Transferring unfinished IDM downloads to other computer

For windows XP
Go to Documents and Settings=>(Username)
then Type on the Address bar
like if your username is aditya
then
C:/Documents and Setting/aditya/ApplicationData

then Go to IDM->DwnlData
copy the unfinished file to your Pen Drive

For windows vistsa,7
Go to C:/Users/aditya
Type on Address bar like
C:/Users/aditya/AppData
then go to Roaming->IDM->DwnlData

copy the unfinished file to your Pen Drive

Now your files are copied...what next you have to do is
1.Open the IDM(Internet Download Manager).
2.Select the Unfinished file.
3.Go to Tasks->export->To IDM export File
4.Save it with any name in your Pen Drive.
5.Now on the other computer IDM. Go to Tasks->Import
6.Import the exported file.
7.Start downloading the imported file.
8.Pause downloading when it starts Receiving all the partitions.
9.Now copy and replace the content of respective Folder which IDM has made in DwnlData Folder with the Pen drive folders data,which you have copied from other computer DwnlData folder.

Now Resume the Downloading.....and it will work for sure

  1. no it gives problems, and the download gets corrupted.

    later I found this, and I had to do a little alteration because the 2nd machine was running windows XP and first Win 7.
    Change was to edit the file path inside the reg key.

  9. i just want to clarify some steps.
    -
    the unfinished file is in the pendrive as well as the exported file. so the next thing that i will do is:
    -
    1. open IDM (other computer) import the exported file in the pendrive
    2. start download then pause if it loads
    3. go to appdata/idm (other computer) and paste the files in the pendrive in the respective folder
    4. resume the download.

    did i get it?

  11. It work bout some partitions are staying in disconnect mode and other things the % of old computer data will reduce some size when we export the data to new computer. Please any other solution to resolve this one.

    Example- 1st i am download a file 140 mb of 4 gb. When i import into the new computer it will start from 110mb. 30mb is reduced due to disconnect of 2 nos partition as describe above.

  12. Ok I have found the solution

    I managed to to transfer IDM unfinished download from one version of windows to another

    What I did is the following
    Given windows XP
    IDM installed
    unfinished download

    First I exported the unfinished download to get a file with .ef2
    Second I transferred the file to the other PC and then imported it
    Third I paused the download and closed IDM
    4th I copied the temp files from PC 1 and replaced the temp files of PC 2
    5th I opened registry on both PCs and located the download
    6th I changed the pathnames including the name of the log file
    7th I copied all the values in chList from PC 1 to PC 2 (important step otherwise you will get corrupted download)

    now you can open IDM and resume the download
